Oxidized Silver
With regular wear oxidized jewelry will become brighter and over time will developed elegant silver highlights. Periodic cleaning with a jewelry polishing cloth will keep silver jewelry bright. Never use harsh chemicals such as toothpaste or jewelry cleaning solution to clean your jewelry as it can damage the patina. A soft bristled toothbrush and warm water can help remove light residue from your jewelry.
18k Gold and Gold Gilding
Gold gilding that shows signs of aging and discoloration can be refreshed with a soft polishing cloth. With heavy wear delicate gold gilding can disappear over time. To have your piece refinished please contact our studio.
Jewelry made in gold or platinum will lightly burnish over time achieving a soft satin look. A soft bristled toothbrush with soap and warm water can help remove light residue from your jewelry.
Gemstones
Gemstones should be checked annually. With regular wear stones may become loose as a result of repeated bumps and abrasions. Periodic check ups can prevent stones from becoming damaged or falling out. Pave and melee stones will occasionally fall out, especially on bands with diamonds all the way around. Within 12 months of purchase, we will replace melee gemstones at no charge. After 12 months, we will replace melee diamonds and gemstones with a repair fee.
Storing Your Jewelry
To keep jewelry looking brilliant, store it in a dry area. Moisture in the air can lead to tarnishing, so store the jewelry in a jewelry box or pouch. You can also place an anti-tarnish strip in the jewelry box or pouch for further protection. If the jewelry comes in contact with water, perfume, sweat, or any other form of moisture, be sure to wipe and dry the piece.
